Let’s face it: Some of the recentWestworldepisodes have been rocky. But Sunday’s sixth episode of season 3, “Decoherence,” had two legitimately greatWestworld-ian sequences. Hey look, we’re back in the theme park with Maeve. Well, not really. Okay, so it’s a little trickybut that’sWestworld, right? Maeve has returned despite her self-sacrifice last season to help usher her daughter into the digital Eden. Then Maeve literally kills herself to get out of this fiction and get brought backstageor so she thinks. She wakes to find techs Felix and Sylvester not recognizing her. Lee tempts Maeve with a new quest journey: Reunite with her daughter in the digital Eden....
This week left behind Maeve and Bernard and instead focused on Charlotte and Dolores. Or, more likely, Dolores and Dolores. Let’s talk about that first. Credit: John P. The finale comes at an interesting time amid the current pandemic. We see protesters in the HBO drama wearing face masks and the show seems prescient.
