A director royale? The James Bond series may just get handed to Mendes, Sam Mendes

Id also love to see what Kathryn Bigelow could do with an 007 installment.

Beyond her pyrotechnical action chops, surelyshewould offer a novel angle on the ultimate big-screen ladies man.

The director, Martin Campbell (GoldenEye), brought back thedangerof Bond.

And it worked, stunningly.

Better Bond didnt necessarily mean bigger Bond.

And so the producers did what producers tend to do: They got scared.

Mendes is just the director to bring it back.

Will the movie be calledFrom Suburbia With Love?GoldenAngst?

Okay, I humbly apologize for those wretchedly obligatory Sam Mendes jokes.

Or maybe Mendes will try for something radical thats never been done in a Bond movie before.
