Its been a crazy, crazy timeline, Takal says.

Theres no time to second-guess anything, which has been kind of a fun experience.
But this was brought to me in February or March of this year with no script or anything.
So its been way faster than anything Ive ever done.

Ahead ofBlack Christmas release, EW caught up with Takal about making the film and more.
The remaining sisters have to figure out why these women are disappearing and whos responsible for it.
And eventually, once they figure out who the bad guy is, they have to fight for survival.

She and Riley are really the dynamic duo of the film.
The two of them, despite their differences, learn from the each other.
I can talk about some boys!
Because therearemen in the movie.
Ive actually had a wonderful experience making this movie despite how crazy and rushed its been.
So that was the jumping-off point for how I came up with this plot.
Id compare it more to how Luca Guadagnino remadeSuspiriathan to a straight-ahead remake.
The originalBlack Christmasfeels so contemporary and modern for the time.
For me, it was about what does it feel like to be a woman in 2019?
I would definitely say so.
It just gave me a pit in my stomach.
This is not to say that a man might want to see that.
I call this movie a fiercely feminist film, so I dont mind being asked about that at all.
