So the first thing of course I did was Google images of her and loved them.
I mean, really, really loved how shed been portrayed in the Marvel comics.
I liked the fact that shes almost always portrayed as a megalomaniac.

And whenever she crops up somewhere, she usually wants to take over the world.
So whats not to love?
That seemed to tick every box I wanted.
While its not her first time playing a villain, Hurley says shes going even darker this time around.
I have played bad many times, she says with a smile.
I think shes probably more bad.
And were like, No, no, no, no, thats not the point!
Thats how she chose to seduce him into giving up his soul.
She was just being charming and nice and vulnerable and seductive and obviously evil underneath.
She continues, But Morgan is a lot darker than that.
In some ways, shes not a black and white villain.
She has a little vulnerability.
And she has a kindness in her.
When she interacts with kids, she genuinely doesnt understand why they shouldnt immediately follow her.
She thinks shes got all the answers and will make everything fantastic.
She does her utmost to be convincing.
And she believes it; she believes it totally.
She wants to take it over.
She wants to rule it, Hurley says about Morgans plans for the world.
She wants to bring elements of how she thinks the world should be run into how it is today.
Some myths say that she should have ruled a long time ago, but was cast out by Merlin.
This is how she fights her way back into this world.

What Hurley didnt expect with this role, however, was how much extra homework she had to do.
Ive never visited a Dark Dimension before, really.
So now I have been educated.
Ive done more blue screen work on this show than Id done previously.
Its very much a different sensibility as an actor.
Its hard, actually; its quite difficult.
Plus, she had to learn how to move her hands the right way for Morgan to cast spells.
Its called tutting, Hurley says as she performs some hand choreography as an example.
Its not as difficult as learning Latin.
And, in fact, I have a scene where I have 18 lines of Latin which I chant.
At the same time.
It takes a while to learn.
