It seems to this movie fan like the previously announced Black Widow role inIron Man 2is the no-brainer choice, but maybe theres aGullivers Travelsfan out there who can get me excited about this news she may instead play a Lilliputian princess in 20th Century Foxs reimagined version of the Jonathan Swift story.
Its still possible she can do both movies, but the scheduling is tight Iron Manstarts shooting in California in early April;Gulliverin the U.K. in late March and according toVariety, Fox can invoke a contract clause leftover from BluntsThe Devil Wears Pradaagreement that forces her to doGulliver.
Blunt is a solid choice for superspy Black Widow (herPradacharacters attitude and swagger would wear the skin-tight Widow suit well), but should she head to Lilliput instead, Im sure Marvel could find another fine option.

And I will say, theGulliverproject has caught my eye now that theyre also adding Jason Segel to star alongside Jack Black, who will play the title character, a reporter who is washed up on an island inhabited by little people. But given the troubleIron Man 2has already had with casting (Terrence Howard replaced by Don Cheadle, reportedly a money dispute; Samuel L. Jackson backed away, saying Marvel is being cheap;Mickey Rourkealso reportedly being low-balled, may not sign on), Im worried that switching up this late in the game will further muddy a movie Im pretty excited about, so Im definitely hopingGulliverdoesnt derail Marvel and director Jon Favreaus first choice for Black Widow.
