I think in subsequent years, people watching that season had different takes.
I was so happy with the way that everybody did.
Well, that was worth it.It was cumulative.
Its how they feel about what they consume.
But the one aspect that could potentially temper it is just taking the whole of it together.
It is asking a lot of the audience to do that though.
One of the reasons I dont read them is because its endless.
And does online criticism represent the entirety of the audience?
And it works both ways.
People are saying awesome things about the show.
I also dont think its like reading that and be like, Ah yes, nailed it.
I dont think thats fair either.
Its just not telling a story with integrity.
Which was happening either way, by the way.
I want to take stories in different directions than that have gone before.
In taking those risks, the only thing youre risking is the audiences interests or their opinion of you.
If were not taking risks, were not serving the audience, were just serving ourselves.
Were just serving, making sure that no ones upset with us.
To really serve the audience, you got to put your neck out there.
Its actually the thing I like most about the franchise.
You mentioned that obviously this is all leading to season 6.
Structurally, the show is going to change quite a bit.
It still is a serialized story, but its told through these very focused perspectives.
I think thats going to be something that the audience really digs.
Thats something thats very exciting.
Just what these characters are dealing with is very unusual to anything weve seen on the shows.
When you talk about intense reunions, could one of those intense reunions involve Sherry?It could.
Its a pretty determined character.
You dont want me to say for sure.
Are they related to the CRM?They are not.
However big that story is, we dont want that to be the story ofThe Walking Dead.
Yeah, who knows?
I would love to get to be likeCrisis on Infinite Earths.
That would be super cool, but thats way down the line.
There is a lot of time that can pass, yeah.
It focuses on aspects of that new mythology.
It focuses on stories that occur in our universe and have nothing to do with anything.
I mean, it isnt the only thing were doing.
