Everything good about last weeks episode seemed to be doubled and tripled in this weeks.
The patients should just be a means to an end that end being to let our beloved characters shine.
Heres everything that was great about tonights just-plain-fun hour of television:

Shirtless Mark
Always a harbinger of good things when this is our first shot of the show.
Rivalry
Lets hear it for the former-Chiefs great fall back to mere mortal surgeon.
Owen was ready to hand her over before Cristina enlightened him as to Richards tactics.
Then Owen called Richards approach old-school, and it wason.
Lets not make this personal, Owen said.
You just did, Ginger, Richard said.
I dont care that they were weak and plot-generating reasons, though.
Soon, she was flipped.
And Owen was onto her.
And then the friendly competition wasreallyon.
In the end, Derek went with Hunts more improvisational approach instead of Richards in-through-the-chest idea.
And though Richard was angry, he backed Owens plan when talking to the patient about it.
Then, he even ended up helping to save the day when things when awry in the operating room.
Richard won the no ones ever tried that before!
award of the evening for suggesting they take out the liver instead of trying to work around it.
Everyone was impressed with everyone.
NEXT: Mark makes a real grownup date
3.
Its impossible for me to remember because they never say it.
Ive never breathed like that before in my life.
Granted, it was definitelyfunnyfrom the get-go.
Jealousy from Owen, jealousy from Lexie, good fun all around.
Plus, the new, vulnerable, clueless Mark brings a whole new dimension to theGreysdating pool.
I was asking you todinner, Mark said when Teddy suggested just grabbing a drink at Joes.
NEXT: Prep that field!
But then Teddy was impressed by Marks skill on the surgery.
Callie gave Mark a self-esteem talk: Youre worth getting to know.
(Not that the strategy worked for Hahn or Burke, but its a start.)
So she told him shed go to dinner.
He said hed take her to lunch.
Because I want to build a life and a family, he said.
And Im not wasting my time on someone who doesnt share that interest.
And, in fact, I wouldnt recommend a guy ask a woman out this way either.
You better look like Mark Sloan if you do.
Callie dispensed enough useful dating advice to put the self-help book industry andCosmoout of business.
Which meant Bailey had to prep the surgical field.
She promptly sent Bailey to the Ukrainian woman who works at the manicure place across the street.
(Minor quibble: She advised Baileynotto spend the night if the sex did occur.
Sex on the couch.
Walk of shame to the car under cover of darkness.
Id say thats good advice only if you want to establish it as a booty call.
An ongoing relationship that leads to bigger things requires at least bed sex, if not a sleepover.
I understand not sleeping over on a school/work night.
Thats just inconvenient.)
She said she needed lunch.
All the years Ive known you, Ive never seen you eat, he said.
(So true, incidentally.
Those fun lunch scenesneverinvolve her.)
Off she bustled to see the Ukrainian.
(Also true: Ukrainian women are the best waxers.)
But soon she was back and more rattled than ever.
What if Im no longer patient enough or stupid enough to deal with this crap?
Who among those of us still dating over 30 hasnt thought this, felt this?
And who among us couldnt feel it once rendered so perfectly by Chandra Wilson?
NEXT: Baileys moment
6.
Callie was not as thrilled: Im building cartilage from Jell-O.
And you page me for condoms?
Once again, so screwed up, so true.
I know who Im calling next time I need dating advice.
Were the stable couple now.
Then Arizona dropped the bomb that she didnt want kids.
She didnt seem to get the significance of that, but Callie did.
A subtle, quick kick in the gut in an otherwise mostly-good-times episode.
I dont do things because theres a timeline, she blurted out.
I dont do things because its the third anything.
She was shaky on this at first: Can I make a statement or just ask questions?
(Oh, the vulnerability underneath her formidable authority!
Can anyone better inhabit a character than this woman?)
She told him shed never had sex with anyone except her ex-husband.
He told her he thought sex should come somewhere between dates eight and 12.
They determined they didnt want to be just friends. They made out.
Who needs Izzie when youve got all this?
What did you think,GreysWatchers?
Where do you think the Bailey/Ben coupling is headed?
Do you like the new Mark/Teddy story line?
What will become of Arizona and Callie now?
Would you buy Callies relationship advice book?
