Its been four years sinceJensen Acklesdirected an episode ofSupernatural.
(He last stepped behind the camera for season 11s The Bad Seed.)
And for his final turn in the directors chair, Ackles is making a pretty big swing.

The episode opens with an action-packed sequence unlike anything the shows done before.
Im like, I know, I know, its a little big,' Ackles remembers.
He was like, The more action the better, go for it.

I then turned to Rob Hayter, our stunt coordinator and I said, Lets go hard here.
Were gonna go big.
Were gonna do like a full Dean Winchester as John Wick.

It was a lot of fun.
I did an album this past summer, Ackles says.
It was off getting mastered and I was back up in Vancouver prepping the episode.

He was like, What about some of your music?
So we just didnt tell them.
[Laughs] They got rid of the other two.
