The Texas singer-songwriter offers another glimpse at her ‘Wildcard’ album, out Nov. 1

We kind of went off of that.

And this song, something about it makes me feel hopeful.

Its not too cheery.

Its got this undertow of like Ss gonna happen, but its gonna be okay.

Because really its my truth, Im just saying it a different way.

Everything Ive ever lived through is in my music.

Thirty-four had some bumps.

Every year has some bumps.

The way that I say it is how I feel about it, and how I actually treat it.

I dont live in the moment thats not good [for me].

Somehow, I just move forward.

She notes that another previously sharedWildcardtrack, It All Comes Out in the Wash touches on a similar concept.

At 35 so far, Ive lived a lot of life and Ive written it all down.

This is what Ive been living out for my whole career, she says.

It just seems like a big family movement of all the women.
