Jones states the new showrunner, Charles Eglee, thought Mr. Nancy wasn’t right ‘for black America.’

Gabrielle Union, whom Jones tagged in his tweet about Fremantle, weighed in on the news.

Fuller and Green had alsopreviously saidthey welcomed Jones' input to ensure they were getting the character right.
He also thanked Fuller and Green for casting him in the role.
