Partly because I like to, partly because my job here at EW requires it of me.
Over the following week-plus, I tried in vain to get back on track.
I returned toFriends & Strangers, fruitlessly, over and over.
I turned to Amy Chozick’sChasing Hillaryin the hopes of harnessing (clinging to?)
The solution, it turns out, was to lean into the pandemic panic.

I’ve been thinking a lot about that.
And, on a less grandiose level, it’s simply a great book.
