TV awoke from its holiday nap Saturday with the San Diego Chargers overtime win against the Indianapolis Colts on NBC scoring the best ratings for a primetime Wild Card playoff ever 23.8 million viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen estimates.
Similarly, the Allstate Sugar Bowl won the previous night for Fox, albeit with a much smaller audience of 11.8 million viewers.
On Sunday, primetime finally returned at full force: ABCsExtreme Makeover: Home Edition(11 million) and CBSMillion Dollar Password(10.4 million) vied for 8 p.m. bragging rights, andDesperate Housewives(14.3 million) dominated at 9 p.m. as usual.

And at 10 p.m. the Big Three duked it out with close results among ABCsBrothers and Sisters(9.2 million), CBSThe Unit(9.7 million), and NBCsSuperstars of Dance(10.1 million).
