Watchmencontinues to expand its world and forge stronger links to the comic in its third episode.
Lets get into it.
Three episodes in, Im lovingWatchmen.

the former Silk Spectre, a.k.a.
the former Comedienne, and Jeremy Irons proudly proclaiming hes Adrian Veidt while wearing his old-school Ozymandias costume.
I want to zero in on the Laurie Blake of it.
In fact, the episode is structured around humor.
To start, Christian, what did you make of Lauries jokes?
Did you love Smarts performance as much as I did?
I loved the opening scene where she staged a fake robbery to get to murder a vigilante named Mr. Its about four people appearing before God for judgment.
Although she doesnt use names, its pretty easy to figure out whom shes talking about.
The first is Dan Dreiberg a.k.a.
In Lauries story, Nite Owl tells God that he did his best to help the world.
So Lauries God condemns him to Hell.
Next up in the judgment list is an analogue for Adrian Veidt, a.k.a.
Ozymandias, whodidchange the world and killed a hell of a lot of people to do it.
Too many people, perhaps, because he also gets sent to Hell.
Then its Doctor Manhattans turn.
Now the brick comes down and kills God.
This extended joke seems like Lauries way of trying to process her superhero past.
Veidts situation is clarified a bit this episode.
Chancellor:What a glorious moment!
Lauries complicated relationship with her past comes through in how she approaches her investigation into Crawfords death.
No, replies Angela.
Me neither, says Laurie.
Even though Laurie clearly has contempt for vigilantes, she still hasnt shaken off some of their behaviors.
Christian:I am loving the dynamic that is emerging between Angela and Laurie.
Shes definitely taking after her dad, and not just in that shes murdering people for the federal government.
Like her father, Laurie has no patience anymore for superheroes pretensions of importance.
That undercuts the holier-than-thou position shes taken with everyone else so far.
Whens the last time Laurie got checked like this?
I love that no one on this show is unbeatable.
Laurie is clearly shook after her confrontation with Angela, and…well.
I suppose it falls to me to talk about the dildo, doesnt it?
And yet, Laurie doesnt ultimately go through with it.
Instead of pleasuring herself with the big blue boy, she hooks up with Agent Petey instead.
Despite her take-no-prisoners attitude, Laurie clearly has a weakness for nerds who think of themselves as good guys.
No wonder she bursts into laughter.
